Bishop Anagbe was speaking today at the Bishop’s House Makurdi when Old Students of Queen Of The Rosary Secondary School Gboko led a protest to him against politically motivated violence in Benue State.
Bishop Wilfred Anagbe says, it was unfortunate that the Nigeria Leadership is unable to provide those rights and privileges of citizens. He says, it is worrisome that the Nigeria Electoral System gets worse every election year.
“It is very worrisome that in our elections, we move one step forward and three steps backwards. In 2015, we had a fairly good election in this country, with the use of card reader, everybody felt and agreed that it might be better in 2019, and that became the worst system ever we have encountered. Why? Because of desperation, because of frustration and because of it must be me”
Post Election Violence in Benue State led to the attack on Professor Mrs. Comfort Tuleun who was shot on her way to Makurdi from Gboko with Election Results of the Governorship re-run last week.
Professor Comfort Tuleun who was the Returning Officer in the elections is a member of Queen of The Rosary Old Girls’ Association or QROGA Class of 1980.
Her attackers are yet-to-be-identified gunmen who shot her through the Hilux Van she was travelling in. She survived and is receiving treatment.
When ASKiNG RADiO Team moved in to report the protest at the Bishop’s House Makurdi Thursday, Most Rev. Wilfred Anagbe was visibly angry at the spate of politically motivated violence in Nigeria and Benue State and prayed for the quick recovery of Professor Mrs. Comfort Tuleun.
