Apple’s latest iPhone launch event is underway, where Tim Cook is onstage to unveil the iPhone 8, iPhone X and a host of other products.
Over the course of the next two hours Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones, as well as upgrades for the Apple Watch, Apple TV and AirPod wireless headphones.
The star of the show is set to be the iPhone X, a premium version of Apple’s flagship device, which will feature an all-screen display, facial recognition software and wireless charging. Apple is rumoured to have priced the high-end iPhone X at a record £1,000.
Apple announces 4K version of its TV
Apple’s smart TV box is now available in high quality. Films in 4K quality will be available on iTunes for the same price as HD movies and will upgrade current purchases to 4K HDR for no extra price. Amazon originals will also be available in the upgraded quality.
The company’s TV app, previously announced, will be available in the UK later this year.
Apple Watch 3 to go on sale September 22
The Apple Watch 3 will be available on EE in the UK, with pre-orders opening on September 15. Apple is yet to announce UK prices for the device, but it will start at $399 in the US for the cellular version and $349 for the non-cellular.
It has a battery life of up to 18 hours, a 70 per cent faster processor, GPS connection and is swimproof. The device is available in gold, silver, space grey, with new sports bands, and a new ceramic grey version.

The latest generation of the Apple Watch 3 has a mobile connection so it can send and receive messages, browse the internet and play songs from Apple Music without needing to be linked to an iPhone. It also works with Siri and has a 50 per cent better battery life.
The device, which is the same size and shape as the current Watch 2, can also make phone calls independently.
