BRYAN Adams invented the catchy rock ballad for all time in the 80’s – as well as the cracking movie tune – and he’s still kicking about today.
Here’s everything you need to know about the musician, who does everything he does, he does it for you…
Who is Bryan Adams?
Bryan Guy Adams is a Canadian rock star who was born on November 5, 1959, making him 58 years old today.
He has won three Ivor Novellos and has been nominated for three Oscars.
Born in Kingston, Ontario, Bryan has one brother and his parents were Brits who came to Canada from Plymouth in the 1950s.
He got into music by sitting in for cover bands and was a temporary vocalist for the band Sweeney Todd aged 15.
In 1978 he signed to A&R for one dollar and started recording music, before released a self-titled debut album in 1980, working with fellow songwriter Jim Vallance.
After releasing three more albums, Bryan was a huge star and in 1985 he worked on Roger Daltrey’s album Under A Raging Moon, a tribute to The Who’s late drummer Keith Moon.
What followed was four decades of music-making, with the rocker releasing 13 albums and writing songs for ten movies.
A vegan since 1989, Bryan has fought for animal rights on numerous occasions and and wrote to the CEO of KFC in 2007, pleading for them to use a more humane method of killing chickens.
He has also spearheaded The Bryan Adams Foundation, which aims to spread education and learning opportunities to young people across the Globe.
His humanitarian pursuits led him to grow close to the late Princess Diana, and another little-known fact about Bryan is that he loves zipping about on a scooter.
What are Bryan Adams’ biggest tracks?
Bryan is best known for his tracks Summer Of ’69, Heaven, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You and Run To You.
Everything I Do was written for the 1991 movie Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner, and the single was at Number One for several weeks in countless countries.
One of his other movie tracks was All For Love, a collaboration with Sting and Rod Stewart, for the 1993 movie The Three Musketeers.
In 2005 Bryan also released a catchy collaboration with Mel C called When When You’re Gone.
This November 2017 Bryan is releasing an ultimate compilation of his hits including two new songs.
Is Bryan single and what is his net worth?
Bryan has been married to former assistant Alicia Grimaldi, 37, since 2009.
He had his first child with her – daughter Mirabella Bunny – in 2011, when he was 51.
They then had Lula Rosylea two years later
Alicia – whose dad is Isle of Wight’s deputy lieutenant and former High Sheriff Peter Grimaldi – helped Bryan set up his foundation so they’d known each other a long while.
Before marrying Alicia, Bryan was linked to Elle Macpherson, Antonia Harrison and Caterina Murino.
