Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has declared three days of mourning for those killed by Fulani in recent attacks on communities in his State.
More than 70 people including women and children have been killed in 2018 alone in Logo and Guma Local Government Areas of Benue State.
In a signed statement by Mr. Terver Akase, the Chief Press Secretary, it shows the mourning period will be from Tuesday January 9, to Thursday January 11 this week.
Akase says, there will be a Church Service for the repose of victims’ souls at the IBB Square in Makurdi, which will be followed by mass burial.
By this notice, flags are to fly at half mast within the mourning period while work will close at 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday which is the day for the church service and burial of the victims will be work-free day in the State.
